Pre-Prep Room
4 - 5 years old
Our Pre- Prep room has a Bachelor qualified Teacher and an Educator Assistant. The Pre-Prep room accommodates children aged from 4 years to 5 years of age and is approved by the Queensland Government. The daily program reflects the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
The Pre-Prep room offers a safe and supportive learning environment for all children. We use structured learning experiences and play-based experiences to ensure a holistic approach is provided for all children’s learning. Routine and transitions are used to promote structure and continuity in the room.
The daily routine integrates skills needed for a smooth transition into schooling life. We aim to observe each child’s learning and interests, and then use these aspects for planning future learning experiences and possibilities. Child input is a valued part of our planning and ensures learning experiences are engaging and relevant to each individual child’s learning and development.
We also have frequent contact with the local school, Loganholme State School. This assists with the transition to Prep as we discuss skills needed for the first year of schooling and implement a of variety of resources and activities that are used in Prep.
